The collection includes drafts, review copies, and mock-ups of Gary L. Doster's book, A Postcard History of Athens, Georgia, published 2002 by the Athens Historical Society. Documents pertaining to the Athens Community Council on Aging’s participation in the Grassroots Arts Program, which led to the creation of The History of the Station, an oral history of the railroad station formerly located on Hoy Street. The Council attained ownership of the building in 1987 and restored it to use as their headquarters.

The Tanner Lumber Company was an Athens-based company that sold builders’ and artists’ materials until 1996. The collection includes documents and ephemera belonging to the company, as well as miscellaneous materials from two other local businesses, the Dozier Company and Athens Market Inc. Also included in the collection are family records of the company’s president, J.B. Tanner.
