The collection consists of material belonging to students, including diplomas, varsity letters, sports uniforms, trophies, school directories, a student handbook from 1952, and class reunion material, such as photographs, invitations, directories, event programs, and class of 1941 and 1944 reunion booklets. Also included are photographs of students and the various buildings that have housed the school, as well as photographs of the Chase Street School. Additional materials include a copy of Athens High Faculty Recognition and Remembrances created by The Athens High Alumni Association, which includes information about the history of the school, as well as anecdotes about and photos of teachers and obituaries of deceased faculty members; copies of the school yearbook, The Red and White, from 1924-1927 and two copies of the school newspaper, The Thumb Tack Tribune, from 1941 and 1992; press clippings detailing school events and athletic games; and miscellaneous Athens items, including a bus token, a 1958 program for the Alps Road Drive-in Theatre, and a 2005 letter written by the Director of Development for the University of Georgia Libraries to Charles Marlowe, the creator of the collection, regarding the donation of his materials.
