Separated Materials
The collection initially contained a few folders of materials relating to the Civil War. Two of the items are historical maps pertaining to the U. S. Civil War that have been moved to the Heritage Room’s maps collection. Both are stored in drawer no. 6: “Campaigns of the Civil War Centennial Edition,” published by C. S. Hammond & Co., Maplewod, N. J., 1961; and “Civil War Battlefield Map 1861-1865,” unknown publisher and date. The remainder are clippings of a series of articles entitled “The Georgia Campaign,” published April 28-June 2, 1957, in News of the Southeast Empire, a Sunday section of The Atlanta Journal and Constitution. These may be deaccessioned if nearby sources of this newspaper from those dates can be confirmed.
