Houze Family carte de visite album
Scope and Contents
The carte de visite album contains thirty photographs with many of the names ascribed on or below the images. Several of the empty pages have names, suggesting that there were additional photographs that have been lost. Vallie Long received the album in January 1869 and was the primary compiler of the album. Many of the photographs were collected by Augustin Houze from his classmates and were added to the album after he and Vallie were married.
Photographs are in good condition; the album pages, however, are completely separated from the text block. The text block itself is broken and some of the pages have torn because of the break.
