Scope and Contents
The Official Program for the December 7 football game between the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the Georgia Institute of Technology Yellow Jackets. It was published by the Program Committee, University of Georgia. The program includes a brief essay accompanying a panoramic picture of the stadium. Also featured are pictures of S. V. Sanford, T. C. Atwood (the architect of the stadium), and U.G.A. several coaches, players, and administrators, as well as the coach and some players of the Georgia Tech team.

This collection has no restrictions. This collection is open to the public. Library policy on photography and photocopying will apply. Advance notice may be required. Apply in the Heritage Room for access. The exception is the Order of the Eastern Star collection, the directories included in which list the personal addresses and phone numbers of members. These directories are not available to the public.
Biographical / Historical
This game, December 7, 1931, took place less than two months after Sanford Stadium opened. Of note for researchers interested in local and regional history are advertisements for the Trussell Motor Co., Athens’s first automobile dealership; the Hanna Manufacturing Co., which made baseball bats and operated in Athens; and several hotels: the Atlanta Biltmore; the Dinkler Hotels (including the Ansley in Atlanta); the Georgian Hotel; and the Holman Hotel.
