A single issue of the Arizona Quarterly, Volume 10, Number 4, Winter 1954. Included in this publication is “Orozco's Adam and Eve,” an essay by W. Stanton Forbes. He autographed the front cover, adding the inscription: "for the Athens Regional Library in appreciation."

Apply in the Heritage Room for access. The exception is the Order of the Eastern Star collection, the directories included in which list the personal addresses and phone numbers of members. These directories are not available to the public.
Biographical / Historical
William Stanton Forbes, 1912-1989, was born in Athens and first become interested in art at a young age while studying under his aunt, the artist Lucy May Stanton. After attaining degrees at the University of Georgia and Vanderbilt University, he studied under Giovanni Colacicchi at the Royal Academies in Rome and Florence. In the years, 1942-1945, he served in the U.S. Army with the 602nd Engineer Camouflage Battalion. He later studied art at Mexico City College, receiving a Master's Degree in History of Art and Applied Art in 1954. Forbes displayed his art at annual exhibits held at his home in Athens and spent a considerable amount of time in the North Georgia mountains.
