Scope and Contents
Included in this collection are paperback bound volumes of all of the issues published during the school years, 1956-1957 (Volume XXVII), 1957-1958 (Volume XXVIII), and 1959-1960 (Volume XX), each volume containing nine issues. Biographical / Historical
Athens High School moved into the current Clarke Central building in 1952. Due to school desegregation, it merged with Burney-Harris High School to form Clark Central High School before the 1970-1971 school year. Upon the establishment of Clarke Central, the Thumb Tack Tribune combined with the Burney-Harris student newspaper, the Highlight, to become Highlights of the Thumb Tack Tribune. A review of the Clarke Central yearbooks held by the Heritage Room suggests that the publication name changed to the Red and Gold for the 1974-1975 school year.
