Scope and Contents

The original photographs had been damaged, all along their bottom edges. The damaged portions were already cut off when donated to the Heritage Room. The digital versions of the negatives are available to view upon request.

This collection has no restrictions. This collection is open to the public. Library policy on photography and photocopying will apply. Advance notice may be required. Apply in the Heritage Room for access. The exception is the Order of the Eastern Star collection, the directories included in which list the personal addresses and phone numbers of members. These directories are not available to the public.

Biographical / Historical

Organized by the Athens Folk Music and Dance Society, the festival began in 1985 and features folk, bluegrass, gospel, blues, and similar music artists on an outdoor stage at Sandy Creek Park.
