Athens, Georgia: Tracing of a Map by E. P. Bishop
Scope and Contents
The Charles A. Rowland IV collection includes personal documentation of Mr. Rowland’s activities in Athens in such organizations as The Five Points Neighborhood Association and the Athens Historical Society. Also included in the collection are city zoning papers and maps of Athens.
The personal papers, ledgers, correspondence, checks, bank statements, court cases, and account books in the collection belonged to Judge J. D. Bradwell. The collection contains correspondence from Judge Bradwell’s unsuccessful 1932 for a judgeship on the Georgia Court of Appeals, including endorsements from several prominent Georgians. Personal documents from Jessie Julia Mize, a professor home economics at the University of Georgia are included. Three manuscripts from Susan Colegrove, a local author and former member of the Department of English at the University of Georgia, are also included. Among these is a draft of the novel Resting in the Bosom of the Lamb, which Colgrove published under her pen name, Augusta Trobaugh.
